ODW Transformation Story: Aminata B. Grandson

Aminata had hope. After attending Transformation Training (TT) class and learning how prenatal care and a hospital delivery could help babies have a higher survival rate, she knew she had to talk to her daughter who was advanced in her third pregnancy. Her daughter’s last two pregnancies had ended in sorrow when each baby died from complications during the home delivery. 

Even though the information she just learned was counter to everything Aminata had thought and been told, and knowing it would cost money that she did not have, Aminata determined that she would do everything she could to preserve the life of the child her daughter now carried. Following her TT class that day, Aminata went to her daughter’s home and explained the lesson she had just learned, offering hope to her daughter. Her daughter listened intently to the knowledge her mother had gained, and later that week, when she went into labor, Aminata and her daughter both made their way to the hospital. The next week during TT class, giving all the glory to God, Aminata was thrilled to share with the class that she had a healthy grandson. Aminata told how her daughter was so appreciative of the TT class her mother was attending, and the life-saving knowledge she was able to pass on.
