COVID-19 | Words of Comfort and Activites to do at Home

At Accessible Hope, we work with people who often feel isolated and alone. A sense of community is something all human beings crave.

During this uncertain time when the coronavirus is running rampant across our globe, and many people are living under “shelter in place” or “lock down” conditions, more and more of us are experiencing the feelings of isolation and lack of community.

We’d like to offer some words of hope and some suggestions of activities that can help us all get through these times.

Need HOPE?
“Be strong and take heart, all you who HOPE in the Lord.” Psalm 31:24

It’s easy to feel hopeless when we don’t have any control over what’s going on around us. This verse reminds us of our unchanging God who is in control.

Is there JOY?
"The JOY of the LORD is my strength.” Nehemiah 8:10

Joy can easily be lost when we are stressed out about our situations. Thank the LORD for the reminders in His Word, that joy is found in Him.

Lacking COMMUNITY?
“Encourage one another and build each other up.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Take some time today to write a letter or send a card to a friend or family member who is also locked in during this tremulous time. Sometimes reaching out and touching the life of someone else, lifts our spirits as well. By purchasing a set of handcrafted cards like these above, you can warm the hearts of others while supporting women who are also in challenging situations as well.

Feeling ISOLATED?
“In returning and REST you shall be saved, in quietness and TRUST shall be your strength.” Isaiah 30:15

Download and print this free coloring sheet that will help you focus on trusting in the Lord and resting in Him during this time of fear and uncertainty. While you color, pray for all those who are feeling isolated and alone. (And then maybe send your colored sheet to a friend who would also benefit from this “Trust and Rest” reminder.)
