A Prayer for June
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
whose trust is the Lord.
He is like a tree planted by water,
that sends out its roots by the stream,
and does not fear when heat comes,
for its leaves remain green,
and is not anxious in the year of drought,
for it does not cease to bear fruit.”
Jeremiah 17:7-8
O Lord, you are our source of life and flourishing. When our trust is firmly rooted in you we bear fruit, we have peace, we thrive and are satisfied. We so desire to flourish, but often we are our own worst enemy. We doubt your faithfulness. We fear when the heat turns up. We become anxious when there is drought. Lord, give us grace to put our full and unreserved trust in you, to make YOU our trust.
Father, for those with disabilities around the world, their reality is often full of “heat” and “drought.” They don’t know how to find the stream of life. And their lives are not bearing fruit. Father, give them access to knowing you so that their trust can be you. Let us do our part to make you known to people with disabilities around the world.
